Rich text field
A long-answer field with a formatting toolbar. Note: the toolbar is presentational today — answers submit as plain text.
What it does#
The Rich text field is a long answer that shows a Bold / Italic / Underline toolbar above the textarea. The toolbar isn't wired up yet, so the answer is stored as plain text for now — use it where you want the styled look, and richer capture will follow.
When to use it#
- Job descriptions, case notes, or any answer that benefits from headings and lists.
- Internal forms where respondents paste formatted content.
Settings#
- Required — must be filled before the form advances.
- Placeholder — invite a real answer.
- Min / Max length — guard against one-word answers or runaway essays.
- Rows — the starting height of the editor.
Related fields#
- Long input — plain multi-line text, no formatting.
- Short input — single-line answers.
